ConsumerFi Dashboard Extension

Effective Date: July 30th, 2025

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how ConsumerFi ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you install and use the ConsumerFi Dashboard browser extension (the "Extension"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner, in compliance with the Google Chrome Web Store's User Data policies. By installing and using our Extension, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

This section details the specific data the Extension collects and processes. Our goal is to only access the data essential for the Extension's core functionality.

Information You Directly Provide

Content You Submit: We collect the text you voluntarily paste into the Extension's input field. This content is the primary data you provide to earn compute credits.

Information We Collect Automatically

Authentication Data: To provide a seamless login experience, the Extension reads your privy-id-token authentication cookie set by our website (consumerfi.ai). This allows us to securely verify your identity without requiring a separate login within the Extension. We do not access any other cookies from any other websites. Locally Stored Session Data: The Extension uses Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to securely store your access token, basic user profile information, and a token expiration date on your device. This keeps you logged in between browser sessions. Anonymized Usage Data: We may collect basic, non-personally identifiable interaction data, such as features used and error logs, for the sole purpose of debugging and improving the Extension's performance and user experience.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following specific purposes: To Provide Core Services: To process and analyze the Content You Submit with our language models, score its quality, and award your account with the corresponding compute credits. To Authenticate Your Account: To verify your identity and maintain a secure session using your Authentication Data from the ConsumerFi cookie. To Improve Our Services: To analyze Anonymized Usage Data to identify bugs, understand usage patterns, and enhance the Extension's features. To Maintain Security: To protect against unauthorized access and ensure the integrity of our platform.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We are committed to not selling your personal information. We do not trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances: Authentication Provider (Privy): We rely on Privy for secure user authentication. While you authenticate via their service on our main website, the Extension only reads the resulting cookie and does not share new information with them. Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency). Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement the following measures: Encryption: All data transmitted between the Extension and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS. Secure Storage: Your session data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage API. Limited Access: We follow the principle of least privilege, ensuring the Extension only requests permissions and accesses data that is essential for its operation.

Compliance with Chrome Web Store Policies

User Data Policy: We handle all personal and sensitive user data in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy. Limited Use: Information collected from the Extension will not be used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. The data is used solely to provide and improve the user-facing features of the Extension as described in this policy.

Your Rights and Choices

You have control over your data and can exercise your rights at any time. Access and Update: You can access and update your account information through the main ConsumerFi web application. Managing Extension Permissions: You can review and manage the Extension's permissions at any time through your browser's extension settings page (chrome://extensions). Account Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account and associated data by contacting our support team. Please note that some information may be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes.

Children's Privacy

Our Extension is not intended for or directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. For significant changes, we may also provide a notification through the Extension. Your continued use of the Extension after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
